Hi Parents!
Here we go, week 3 of first grade! It was so great to see you all again at Open House and give you information regarding our daily life in our classroom. Also, thank you so much for sending in items from the Helping Hand board at meet and greet. I really appreciate your generous donations!
Fast Classes start this week. Please let me know which class your child will be attending and on which day so I can make sure they get where they are supposed to be.
Here is what we have going on this week:
Wednesday: Talent Development with Mrs. Walker
Here is what we are learning this week:
Math: We will continue to work on number sense and counting to 120.
Phonics: CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words. Ex: cat, mat, bed, red
Social Studies: We will begin our unit on Continents, Oceans, and Landforms. This week we will focus on the 7 continents.
Writing: We will begin our Narrative Writing/Small Moment writing for Quarter 1.
Reading: We are continuing to develop our Daily 5 rotations and routines. This week we will continue to build our reading stamina, work on writing, and practice reading with partners.
Happy Birthday, Jackson on August 14th!!!
Thanks!
Ms. Coyne
