Hey Parents! We wrote our first family journal letter on Friday so please be sure to write back. We did this letter together as an introduction to letter writing. Next week, the students will write their own letters to you.
Picture day is this Thursday. These are the pictures that will be used for your child’s yearbook photo.
Here is what have going on this week:
Thursday: Target and Picture Day
Friday: Guidance with Mrs. Edwards and PTA Family Fun Night
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reading: We will start out Reader’s Workshop. Students will rotate through a variety of stations that involve reading to self, reading with someone, working on phonics skills, listening to reading, and writing. We will begin listening to stories read aloud and discussing story elements (plot, setting, characters, problem, and solution).
Writing: We will continue our Handwriting unit as well as continue our Narrative Writing unit.
Math: Number Sense. We will work on counting to 120, writing numbers to 120, and other activities that go along with building our knowledge of numbers.
Social Studies: Global Address Unit where students will learn their street address, city, county, country, and continent.
