Hey Parents!
Tomorrow, March 2nd, is Read Across America Day! Please have your child bring in their favorite book and a Teddy bear to read with.
Just a reminder that the Tritt Trot is THIS Saturday, March 7th! Paper registrations were sent home today in your child's communication folder. You may also register online at https://trittpta.membershiptoolkit.com/trot. This is a great community event that supports our PE Department!
Zoo field trip permission forms will go home tomorrow afternoon. If you would like to chaperone, please remember that you will meet us at the zoo and no siblings may attend.
The book fair will be in the LLC this week. If your child would like to go shop in the morning, please remind them to come and check in with me first.
Here is what have going on this week:
Monday: Read Across America Day
Thursday: Target Day
Friday: STEAM showcase, LLC check out, and Guidance with Mrs. Edwards
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reading: This week, we will wrap up our quarter 3 reading standards. We will review central message and comparing and contrasting two books.
Writing: We will wrap up our unit on opinion writing with an opinion writing on Teddy Roosevelt. Students will pick one of the many pets he had in the White House and why they think that was the best pet he had.
Math: We will continue our unit on adding within 100 using a two-digit number and a one-digit number. Ex: 54 + 5 =. We will use a variety of strategies: mental math, tens and ones, and 100 charts.
Social Studies: We will continue learning about our next American Hero, Theodore Roosevelt.
STEAM: Our carrot seeds have sprouted! We are hoping to transplant them outside on Friday during our STEAM showcase.
Thank you!
Mrs. Paine
