Hey Parents!
As the weather gets cooler, please make sure you are sending your child with a coat that can keep them warm at recess. Our recess is earlier in the day (11:15 am) so it can still be chilly. Another thing Mrs. Davis and I have noticed is that some students have very small backpacks that are unable to hold all the student’s materials. We are worried that their folders, jackets, lunchboxes, library books, etc. will get misplaced if they are having to carry these items in their hands due it them not fitting in their backpacks.
Here is what have going on this week:
Monday: Veteran’s Day – Wear red, white, and blue!
Thursday: Target Day
Friday: LLC Lesson on Ben Franklin
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reading: We will read a variety of informational text and determine the reason the author wrote the book (Author’s Purpose).
Writing: Informational Writing Unit. This week we will combine social studies and writing by researching our first American Hero, Benjamin Franklin, and write a teaching book on him.
Math: We will work on Addition and Subtraction Word Problems to 20.
Social Studies: We will begin learning about our first American Hero, Benjamin Franklin.
STEAM: We will continue to water and monitor the growth of our freshly planted carrot seeds… we did not see anything as of last week! Fingers crossed!!
