Please be sure to read what we have going on this week below… We have a very busy week! For homework, we will finish out the October calendar this week. Next week, we will start the November choice board.
For Halloween on Thursday, we will have a school-wide Hat Day – no masks, please.
Tuesday, we will do Hearing and Vision Testing. This testing takes place in first and fourth grade.
Here is what have going on this week:
Tuesday: COSTUME DAY & Hearing and Vision Testing
Wednesday: Sound Field Trip, Fall Centers, and Tritt-Mazing Race (wear sneakers!)
Thursday: Halloween – Hat Day and Target Day
Friday: STEAM Showcase and LLC Book Check Out
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reading: We will wrap up Non-Fiction text features and move into identifying the main topic and key details of an informational text.
Writing: Informational Writing Unit. This quarter, we will write a variety of informational writings including teaching books and how-to writings.
Math: We will work on solving addition equations to 20. This week we will focus using Fact Families (2+4 = 6, 4+2 = 6, 6 – 2 = 4, 6 – 4 = 2) to solve addition equations.
Science: We will finish learning about light and shadows and move into Sound.
STEAM: We will plant our fall/winter plants (kale, peppers, cabbage, and herbs).
